About project
The project Classroom in nature and nature in the classroom is aimed at promoting a different way of education and offering alternative forms of education outside the classroom and connecting students with nature. Through the project, we realize the priority of the Erasmus+ program on addressing climate changes and strive to empower young people with tools for more sustainable engagement in nature and greater contact with it. It is a project of three different schools from Turkey, Bulgaria and Slovenia, which are entering into a partnership to exchange different practices and improve the use of nature and space in nature as a new pedagogical practice, which they will incorporate into their regular activities during science lessons, science days and other subjects. With the project, we want to encourage a greater desire among young people to spend time in nature, to make our teachers aware of the importance of working with students in nature, and to exchange different practices with our partners.
A place for learning and teaching in nature as a pedagogical concept offers students content in an outdoor environment and represents an extension of the classic classroom. Learning from textbooks and getting to know the environment with the help of pictures is not effective enough or does not cover comprehensive education. Children need experiential learning to develop into complete personalities. While learning outside the school building, there is direct interaction with nature, experiencing experiences is more connected, and learning material gains meaning if it is discussed in a natural environment. One of the main advantages of using an outdoor environment is that it provides space and freedom of movement for children.
